Bustin' Out the Big Bad Blazer
Wah wah. So sad indoors and on a mannequin. Like a little bird in a tiny cage that just wants the smell of freedom in its nostrils. Yes, that is like this blazer that I blogged about here.
So into the field we go!
Photos by Molly Jean
I already told you about the vintage Escada x eBay fur collar blazer. The pants are made of TAPESTRY or CARPET or something and I scored them at a second hand shop for $8. The tank top is from Kobey's swap meet (flea market of San Diego) for $5 and the boots are vintage Frye. The pony hair leopard belt is from Target.
That blazer is rockin' no? Gotta love animal fur. And meat. Mmmmm, meat.

Light Texture Color Sound
Living in San Diego is the most amazing decision I never made.
I didn't choose this place.
In fact, my job search didn't extend this far south.
But San Diego found me and I took the job and I wouldn't give it up for the world.
We walked to the Adams Avenue Street Fair last weekend.
and... GPOY! I wish you could see my feet. Because I was wearing my Birkenstocks like a rockstar.
Can you see my bleached eyebrows? ;)

Gone Baby Gone
WISHLIST WEDNESDAY COME TRUE! I did it. I bleached them.
And good riddance. My brows bored me. I can't believe it took me this long to do it. I HOPE I NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN, EYEBROWS. Lolz jay kay, we are just taking a break, eyebrows and I.
All the hair bleaching kits at the beauty store are all "MUST NOT TOUCH SKIN, ESPECIALLY NOT FACE OR CERTAIN DEATH". So I'm like "Fack. What do?"
YOU ARE NOW ENTERING A JUDGEMENT-FREE ZONE because I am about to tell you how I did it.
Pubic hair dye kit.
No fucking joke.
It comes with a bleach mixture and dye to make your bush fanciful colors, yknow?
Welp. I figure if it's safe on my vajayjay (which, by the way, it totally is, wink wink) then it's SAFE ENOUGH FOR MY FACE.
The pubic hair kit is available from Betty Beauty ($15) and the Manic Panic Virgin Snow Toner ($7) I had to find on eBay.
So I left it on for about 15 minutes. And yes, it did start to burn a tad. And just when I got a little concerned (I was reading blogs while letting the bleach sit), I ran across these photos...
Of Lara Stone...And then I decided it didn't hurt so bad afterall.
I then did the toner for about 20 minutes and viola! I then took these terrible self-shooter pics in my bathroom by the luminescence of this shitty incandescent light! The things I do for you...
I may never have gap teeth and giant titties like Lara Stone by GODDAMNIT I will have nearly-nonexistent eyebrows.

MALACHITE
Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral, with the formula Cu2CO3(OH)2. This green-colored mineral crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, and most often forms botryoidal, fibrous, or stalagmitic masses. Individual crystals are rare but do occur as slender to acicular prisms.

I know, I know-- I'm a ginger, I'm supposed to love green. And nothing against green-- but it bores me. But I have embraced malachite green. Big nerd scientist over here has a crush on rocks and gemology, so get on my level, bitches.
Small malachite and gold necklace, from The Rock Barrel, Dallas, Texas
This jacket was inspired by the fabbity-fabulous coats of Balenciaga a/w 2007. I bought the vintage Escada blazer off eBay for $35 and the (real) fox fur collar on eBay for $25. I had a tailor put them together and viola! This jacket rocks harder than malachite. lolz, see what I did there?

Featured: Fashion Salade
I don't follow many of the mega-blogs. I do follow a couple that I feel really skim the world wide web and deliver straight to my monitor the hand-picked creme-de-la-creme of fashion. For this I have Studded Hearts and Le Fashion.
Le Fashion is a contributor to Fashionsalade.com and I'm cruising Le Fashion on bloglovin' like a rockstar (aka laying in bed on a Sunday evening eating cookies) and BOOM there's my MUG.
Say whaaat?
See the whole feature, here.
She compliments my pairing denim with turquoise jewelry.
Awwwwww shucks, thanks y'all!

Black and Brown
Black and brown go together. Don't you ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
Molly Jean, my photographer, is such a sport. We woke up at balls'o'clock to be at Torrey Pines at sunrise to catch this eery marine layer fog. Shit was intense. And beautiful.
All photography by Molly Jean.
Brown and black here together. The dark brown velvet blazer is Ralph Lauren, scored offa eBay for $10. The tube top is a vintage Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas shirt that my sister modded into a tube top. The belt is from Target. The brown wide leg cords belonged to my uncle when he was a teenager growing up in Flensburg, Germany. No joke. The black cowboy boots are Durango. The mongolian sheep fur scarf is from Ludwig Beck in Munich, Germany.
Do you believe me now that black and brown go together just dandy?
Oh and another thing: I get a lot of comments on MY HEADER. Yes, I drew him! I love using watercolors to paint creepy crawlies. My header is a newt with the Dallas skyline along his back and see my blue chameleon tattoo in these photos? He started out as a watercolor I did, too! And my fabulous tattoo artist, Jenn, in Arlington, Texas, put him on my bicep. So there, finally addressed the header question for y'all!

Teaser - Zeum Magazine
Sooo, perhaps you might recall my mentioning styling my first shoot some weeks ago? Why haven't we seen the photos, mighty AnnaChrist?? Well, my darling, that's because they were being submitted for publication!
And guess what?
THEY GOT ACCEPTED.
They will be published in the October 31st issue of Zeum magazine, the best underground fashion rag I've seen in a long, long time. They're brand new and based out of San Francisco. And here is a peek into their current issue.
The whole issue (all 112 pages of UNBRIDLED GLORY) can be purchased here.
[EDIT] TO CLARIFY: I DID NOT STYLE THESE PHOTOS, MINE WILL BE PUBLISHED IN THE OCTOBER ISSUE. THIS IS AN INTRODUCTION TO ZEUM AS A PUBLICATION. With that being said, enjoy.
I am so honored that the shoot I styled and shot by Jessica Chavez will grace these pages in October. Don't worry, I'll post those the instant they hit the cyber newstands!
