Today is my birthday. I'm turning 22. This makes me very happy. There are only 3 things I want in this world.

1.) To be this girl:

Born + Bred

Remember me talking about Cowtown? Within an hour of posting I ran across this spread on Studded Hearts. It's a really long spread, here's the highlights, of Erin Wasson, a fabulous Dallas/Fort Worth native being shot in Fort Worth. All my fellow dee eff dubbers will recognize these places and definitely recognize the style, because Texas is a whole nutha country.

I have so much Texas pride, it's insane. Moving to California and having to register as a resident there (for school purposes) will be the ultimate betrayal.

You better believe I've already got mine. Texas Charm necklace, handmade, $50.

Cowtown

My two best friends from high school. This. This, my friend, is why spending the interim between undergrad and grad back home was a great idea. Cowtown AKA FTW AKA Fort Worth is where Chelsea's perfect little loft is and where we did a little shoot. All images by Chelsea Delzell (unless she is in them). She gave me that dress out of her closet, completely styled Karra's look, took all these amazing photos and yeah. Those killer boots? My newest purchase off Etsy. This seller upcycles nasty early-2000 Steve Madden boots into something retrofabulous. Her other stuff can be found here. And the necklace I'm wearing is one I made, for sale on Etsy, here.

Snakeskin Medicine Bag

My dear friend and talented photographer, Andrew Edmonson aka ARE, made by hand a black leather vest, studded black leather medicine bags and a snakeskin medicine bag. I just helped out by wearing them for the camera. It's been such a long time since I've worn fake lashes or even eye liner...

Leather vest and medicine bag by ARE, dainty aquamarine necklace by Tiffany's, dainty aquamarine stud by Bloom Studios, lace bra by American Apparel.

Vintage Las Vegas Harley Davidson shirt, vintage Wrangler jacket, silver ring by Elizabeth Scott.

The first time I worked with Andrew was five years ago and he still has that eye for photography and his technical skill and bedside manner for fashion photog has grown exponentially. Always a pleasure. Check him out here.

I realize that accessories are my favorite things in the world, but not in the classic sense of a bag or shoes, but the tiny details, the little elements that make a look.

Photobucket

Like jeans that lace up in the back. All images via Studded Hearts, one of my new favorite blogs.

Still on about the tips...

Erin Wasson makes me realize I need leopard panties and see that tiny silver ring worn on the middle digit? Extraordinary.

More middle digit rings. This is my new obcession.

The Good News

is that it's still summer.

So before I get carried away thinking of fall fashion, let's just enjoy the moment, okay?

Cat Eyes + Boots

Only half way through summer, and already a hankering for fall fashion. But isn't that the way it always is?

The look will involve two staple accessories. Cat eye sunnies and badass boots.

Photobucket

Photobucket

1. Wood grain cat eyes, $64
2. random knockoff somethings from eBay
3. Striped cat eyes, $90

95% of my shoes can be divided into two categories: boots and sandals. This is because I exclusively wear boots in the fall and winter and exclusively wear sandals in the spring and summer. None of that in-betweeny stuff.

Frye and Fiorentini + Baker are my two favorite brands for boots, but I checked out Dr. Martens and found those first two pairs on their website. The third pair is via Doppelganger and the fourth is actually for purchase, here, on Etsy, for $250. And in my size. Oh, temptation abound.

So there's two scenarios on how to rock the cat eyes + badass boots combo. There's whacked out, super goth awesome:

Photobucket

1. Fox and mohair extravaganza, vintage, $50
2. High-waisted leather trousers, vintage, $65
3. Chunky champagne diamond ring in palladium white gold, handmade, $2,225

The other scenario and far more realistic since I'm a low-key dresser most of the time (being a full-time student and all):

1. Skinny gray sweatpants, a la T by Alexander Wang. But instead of spending $110 on his, I will taylor a pair from Walmart or something, come time.
2. Bell bottoms. In fact I just snagged a pair off eBay. I'll let you know how it goes. This image is via fashiontoast.
3. Rustic silver cross, handmade, $34

And as for a parting note, my miniature fixation continues:
